live rock die off?

My tank being set up for two weeks now, and just bought new live rocks. My question would be concerning live rocks die off and all.
Should i scrub of every thing that came in the rocks, or should i just dump it in the tank?
I currently have some dead rocks to seed. the new rocks came with lots of stuff on them.
Would this help the tank cycle? :thinking:

i would scrub off the nasty stuff thats hanging on the rock...

Scrub off the nasty dead-looking stuff, and give them a good shaking in a bucket of saltwater. The bacteria located on the rock WILL INDEED assist your tank in cycling.
