live rock heeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

ok i picked up my cured live rock today, Now my pockets are empty
oh well, i bought sooooooooooooooo much of it how do i store the 100 lbs that i will not be using?

You can put it in a rubbermaid container or a clean plastic trash can. You need to put a pump in there to keep the water circulating. Do some regular water tests on it and change the water if your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate start climbing. Dirty water will kill your LR.

Place a heater in the tub as well, and if you're going to store it long term, you will need to put a light over it as well in order to keep coralline and other light dependent critters alive.

I've heard that people in Florida are doing this with their outdoor swimming pools. No light or heater needed

Did you buy it with the intent to use it now? How long will you have to store it? Be sure to have plenty of flow around the rocks to prevent dead spots. Use a few power heads if needed.

can we see a pix of this $10 a pound LR? I got mine for $3 apound on line and it was very nice LR. My LFS sells it for $5 a lb so I would like to see what $10 LR looks like.

i wish i could get it for that cheap! very funny live rock is live rock.

ya where i live the live rock is usually around 10 dollars a pound too and it is just as good if not a little worse then the live rock i have received from swf.com that rock is the only rock that has grown soo much nuisance algae on it >.< so im gonna try buying all my live rock online for the most part if not all....
Anyways did your live rock have anything on it? any corals, a lot of coraline algae, bad stuff? good stuff? anything? mine didnt have much coraline algae i just liked how big and flat it was and that clam shell right in the center that is open...i HAD to have it for my cave!!!

no corals lol. it was just cured so not alot of coraline either. i did however get awesome flat pices to make ledges!
i will post pics as soon as i get it all looking perfect!
