the die off off would probably spike the ammo and could kill your fw fish.

Most Live Rock serves as a high pH buffer and calcium source. Neither of those would be good for a freshwater tank, unless you have a species that likes hard, alkaline water. Most tropical freshwater species like neutral water.

I asked that question when I was thinking of going back to freshwater but now I've turned into an addict and only want saltwater.lol

Was it at least with good freshwater and not tap water?

It could recover on it's own, algae is tough stuff, but your small invertabrates probably suffered. At the very least, put some good live rock in the same tank and the other rock will definately recover.

i hear allot about pods and such, like shining a flashlight in the tank well after the lights are out, and seeing liitle things,, i HAVE NEVER seen anything like that... is there anyplace you can "buy a set of pods" and such, to suppliment what may or may not be in there?

We're not allowed to post for competitors of Saltwater Fish, but just search for "ocean plankton culture" and "Bioassay Organisms." You'll find a couple diffrent companies. You could also try the bottled plankton food that claims to be live, but it's not sold for culture, I don't know how viable they still are.
