I have 240 gallon with clown trigger, niger triger, lionfish, snoflake and tusk.
My bed is regular sand. I was told not to add live rock or live sand to the tank as it was expensive and would not be "live" very long with my aggressive fish. I believe both however help reduce nitrates.
1) Could I add live rock or sand to the 30 gallon sump below the tank? Or is there inadequate lighting and supplements for it to flourish?
2) Would I be able to add enough live rock to make a dent in a 240 gallon set up?
