Live Rock Life During Cold Travel???

I will be traveling about 2 and a half hours to purchase a tank set up. My question is about the LIVE ROCK and LIVE SAND. It is over 100lbs of live rock and 50-100lbs of live sand. I plan to transport it in some rubbermaid containers in the back of an open truck. If I put some of the existing water in the containers and put some wet newspaper over the top, will I lose anything in the 2 1/2 hour cold travel? It will be @ 30-40 degrees outside. Any suggestions? Thanks

I would actually get a "car lighter" converter to plug a small aquarium heater into that you can keep cranked up somewhat to help the water stay warm. Because of the vibrations and swaying from the vehicle a powerhead isn't as important, but you'll have less die off from keeping the water temp up.
