do u need more than the normal lighting for live rock? wanted to get some, but heard u gotta have more expensive lighting for it...
if u needa kno what kinda lights i got i can check
 
I dont really think its safe for Nass snails to go with CC, reason why is that it might scrath them and it might be more difficult for them to go through

in the display tank, was plannin to put some on the non live rock for all the good stuff that comes with it (hopefully none of the bad hitchhikers), wasnt really plannin on anything like featherdusters or things like that

The rock does not need special lighting. It will certainly grow more coraline algae, the good algae, with better lights, but it is not needed. Your crushed coral will need to be vacuumed often. Sand sifting species will not be able to get through it. I would not add bottom dwelling fish either, as long as you have the CC, because they will get scraped on the jagged edges.
