Live rock, Live sand, conditioner and other stuff...

I had some questions. Is coralline rock similar to fiji rock? Does it matter what I use, if both are live?
Also, does the live sand matter what it is for a reef? I mean is there a special type only or can I get any live sand? I saw some rocks and sand at floridaliverock.com and was thinking of getting it.
Also, I know everyone says to get a RO/DI water and not use tap water, but won't I be able to use the bio safe conditioner? It says marine aquariums. Has anyone used it? Why do they say for marine tanks if we cannot use it?
Please check it here:

Plus I went to walmart to see if they have water there, and all I saw was distilled water at .58 gallon. Is that the right type of water?
Also, I saw a tap water filter by aquariumpharm.com at the store which makes deionized water. It was about $50. Is that any good?
:help:
thanks

Coraline grows on rock, it's not a rock itself.
Posting links is agiast the rules:rolleyes: but that stuff IMO is NG.
I used the DI for a long time. The only problem is that if your water is real bad it won't last to long. If you go the walmart way I would test it first to be sure it's good.
Oh, and any LS will be good.

thanks..
does anyone else know if Bio Safe is any good? Has anyone atually tried it or is just assume? I added links to the site because I was unable to upload the images.
I saw saltwater for sale at $12.00 for 2.2 gallons. That seems to be somewhat steep. How do you guys manage to change your water or add new one if you dont use tap? Do you buy it always or do something at home?
So I am assuming the live rock is fine from that site. I dont know how else to explain what kind of rock it is except to say go see that site and tel me.
thanx

ok I went to see the rock and either seem fine and like the other guy (sorry) said any live sand will due the part that i was worried about was if that rock is cured or not I couldn't find it there it's not hard to cure rock frome what i under stand but I'd just buy the cured stuff if it were me that is as for conditioners for tap I use bio-safe I think. basically just for chlorine and some other things I do ok with city watter but I do often wonder If i'd be better off with somthing else like RO

hey mujtba that is really really expensive for saltwater. Here in Oklahoma (as long as you have your own 5 gallon jug (available at most local fish stores)) you can fill up a 5 gallon jug for about 4-6 bucks depending on where you go.

You shouldnt have to pay more than $1.00 to $1.25per gallon for salt water. Check your LFS.
Any rock will have at least a mini-cycle even if it states its already cured. When they pull it out of the water and ship it things will start to die off.
If you already have an established tank then you can buy it locally so it isnt out of the water very long or you can cure it in a separate container before adding it to your tank.
If its really good, well cured rock and you get it within 24 hours then you might be ok adding it straight to your tank but I would be careful. If you have anything in there that is really affected by high amonia or nitrites then I wouldnt take the chance.
