matter a fact I just bought 65 lbs for a 1.50 a lb at a local place .... awesome looking Fiji Live Rock. Im getting 180 more pounds at the same price. So far I have found 5 Sponges , that will die because they were out of water for an hour. and about 20 mini stars a couple zoos and a bunch of green and purple coraline

Certainly if it has corals growing on it, it could be a very good deal at $12 a pound.
The brain corals alone could be sold for several times that amount depending on size.
People commonly pay $5-15 for a small frag of something, so that is a good comparison.

It's because we're next to each other and the horridness of Alabama is seeping across state lines!
...I'm going to Georgia next month.

Fiji here runs around 6.99 to 7.99. I have seen Tonga Branch for 7.99. My LFS had Solomon Island around but I cant remember the cost.
12.99 is pricey but it sounds like you are getting a great jump start on you reef with all those brains and polyps. If it were my LFS I would call the rock Instareef and my motto would be "just add water."

Why does the LR suk in Georgia, IMO the best LR in the world is cultured in Florida. (I don't support the destruction of reefs) The stuff from Tampa Bay is great, and this is a pic of the $3/lb cultured LR from the Gulf of Mexico. (this was taken after 3 months in the tank)

Then you may be behind me, screaming! I'll turn around and wave!
Are there any good fish shops in Atlanta?
I need to investigate live rock prices around there.
