i am about to spend $10 per lb but the color on this stuff is amazing and the few pieces i looked at, each had some type of tiny coral on it. its indo pacific, i asked if it was figi and they said no,...its more pourus than figi making it a better natural filtration for the tank. but what do i know....i dont even have water in my tank yet...

every one of my lfs. It has coraline, macro, sponges, crabs, urchins, stars (brittle and micro) one had a gorganian, some have polyps. You cant beat the freebies that u get w/ this rock! ( i would post pics but i have NO lighting in my FOWLR and urchins galore so together they turn my rock pretty bland
)
Not sure if u could get it off the internet im in Tampa area so thats prob. why they sell it every where
There are a TON of LFS in MIami area so just call around and ur bound to find it somewhere!

I actually prefer dry base rock or almost bare live rock over fresh LR with a bunch of algea, polyps, sponges, etc. on it. All the organisms living on the LR would prevent my own corals from growing on it. Base rock or bare LR has a nice clean surface to which I can mount corals and they can easily begin to encrust without fighting off what's already growing.
Or maybe I'm just picky about what I have on my LR. :thinking:

The choice between strip mined LR and cultured come down to a decision over what you're more willing to sacrafice, your specific decorating preferences, or the planet you live on.
