Live rock quarantine?

I will be adding about 5 more pounds of live rock to my DT. On one of the pieces(1.23lbs) there are 5 - 1" diameter feather dusters. So my question is what is the best way to add to my DT. My thought was to keep the live rock in a 5 gallon bucket of salt water heated and with a power head for three weeks, but my concern is with the huge amount of flow, and the feather dusters not making it the three weeks. What do you guys think would be the best way to keep the feather dusters alive and not hurt my display tank by adding the rock directly. Also does it need to be heated if not it would be around 70 degrees? Thanks in advance.

I have a qt, but I have 2 new false clowns in there for another week and a half before they can be added to my DT. Thanks for the quick reply. The live rock has been cured but I thought it was still a good idea to qt the live rock?

If you bought cured live rock locally, and it has not been out of the water for long it should be ok to add to a DT after a quick saltwater rinse.
If it was shipped to you then it should be re-cured for a few days since there will be some dieoff during transit.
Other then that I don't see a need for QT.

you can allways remove the feather dusters with a razor carefully and just add them to your DT, if you think there is ide off on the rock.

The rock should be quarantined. You certainly can introduce parasites into the tank with the addition of rock. The dusters would be fine if you have circulation and heat in the bucket/tub. You can always just remove them, as mentioned.
