Live rock question

Ok I have a tank that has a bunch of live rock in it that I was gonna use to put in my main tank. Firt I got some joes juce and killed off the aiptasia, and just let me say omg that crap smells when it dies. lol wholy crap. The question I had was I turned over one of the rocks and it had a bunch of neon orange stuff on it. Good or Bad? I have never seen that before. I mean bright orange. Also I have a bunch of used to be live rock but was put in a box and dried out. I was gonna put it in the tank of just live rockl. How much live rock should I leave in there to seed the dead stuff?

The bright orange stuff is probably just sponge. Can you post a pic of this?
How much dead rock is there? I would leave 1.5 times as much live as you have dead in order to seed it relatively quick. So, for instance, if you have 10 lbs. of dead, I would leave in there 15 lbs. of live.

Hey whats up. Thank you. I will try to get a pic but I am limited to a camera phone at the moment but we shall see how it turns out. I have about 40 lbs of dead rock right now. Maby more. lol I have too much crap. My spare bedroom is full of stuff.

Well, it all depends on how fast you want to seed it. If you don't mind it taking a lot longer, you won't need as much live.
