live rock question

i just purchased a large piece of live rock and added it to my established tank. and like everyone on here talks about i looked at it at night looking for some critters to come out but none did. does live rock just incourage the growth of these critters or do i have to do something else?

Give it some time, many times the young or eggs are what you get with LR, it could be 2-3 weeks before you see them.

Or months for live rock to start to contain or grow specimens...even a year...could also grow fast or slow depending on light spectrum.

My rock took about 1 month and then there was something new on it every day. I did buy cured rock though, so timing could be diferent.
