Live rock question

How do i know when my uncured live rock is cured. It has been sitting in a rubbermaid container for 3-4 days. I did a water change last night in the tub and scraped off the dead stuff. I was surprized i didn't have that much. All the coralline is still in tact and looks awsome. Do i just check and see if there is any ammonia left or what. Thanks for the help.

Keep close tabs on the ammonia level in your rubbermaid bucket. I would say that if they are near zero for atleast 2 tests ran 6-8 hours apart you should be safe.

Well i checked my water and 0 ammonia. Kinda freaked me out b/c i would have figured i'd have some. I'll check later on and see if their there is the ammonia left. If not i will add the rock slowly over the week. Thanks for the help.

Don't forget the simple smell test too. If it stinks then back it goes for more curing. If it smells like seawater then it should be ok.

yeah Wheni first got it, it stunk horribly. It was pretty bad in one part of the house. I did a water change on it last night and scrubed it pretty good to get all the dead off. But I still saw alot of life on it. There were some worms and tons of coralline of all different colors.
