live rock... what happened?

My live rock was so pretty when i bought it .
One was purple and the other just looked nice.
Now they are black. with hair
I do small water changes everyday.
I've check everything i dont know whats wrong.
And my H. crab has not moved in a week but is still alive.
are they retared or am I?

Check your calcium levels. That purple stuff was probably corraline algae and needs certain amounts of calcium in your tank to survive.

why are you doing waterchanges EVERYDAY?also how long has ur tank been set-up?

its a 5 gal nano tank and i do small water changes every day i was told that was better and it been up for about 3 months now

What type of source water are you using?
How much flow do you have?

I have a 5 gal Eclipse hex and what it come with if that means anything?
