It comes packed in a wax lined box with some wet newspaper. That's it. I recently recieved mine. I was happy and disappointed with the LR that there was not much in the way of live animals on it. Only a few fans and worms. Most of the tube worms and clams, barnacles and oysturs(sp) were all dead. Also it only had a couple large pieces. Most of the rest was what you could call rubble. Not to mention the damn fire ants that came at no charge! I assume that this was just a bad batch but it makes me wonder just how many bad batches they send out. FIRE ANT FREE.

Not sure how much you ordered but there will always be some breakage in transit. The only way I ever got any live things with my rock is when I bought it locally, straight out of established tanks (more expensive but that is the trade off).
