Live Rock?

I have 125 Gallon tank that currently has an 8inch grouper in it. I am planning on putting more fish in it and have been wondering what LIVE ROCK will do for me.
Is a protein skimmer truly necessary for a FO tank?
How many fish can you introduce to a tank at once? I am looking to purchase 5 new fish at an average length of 3 inches. I have introduced multiple fish in my Cichlid tank without a problem. My ammonia, nitrite and nitrates are near perfect.

LR is rock from the ocean that has bebeficial bacteria and other critters growing on it. It is very good for your tank. It provides biological filteration and looks good. As for the protien skimmer, u don't neccessarily need it, but it would not be a bad idea to have one. If u are gonna have corals, then u definetly need one. U should also consider getting Live Sand if u don't have it already. Read some books to help u understabd everything better.

I would introduce the fish one at a time w/ the exception that u want 2 fish of the same species to mate. After u add a fish, wait about 2 weeks for ur filteration to catch up. Then test ur water and if everything is ok, then u can add another fish.
Patience is the #1 thing in this hobby.
Have fun:)
