i believe that just means that it has been sprayed wit salt water to wash off the dead...and hitchhikers but everything i have read says you still have to cure it....i just dont want you to make a mistake and have the tanks start a cycle again...like i almost did once....good luck still a good buy

If this is fresh Walt Smith Fiji rock it is said to have been pre-cured... like was said, that means sprayed off in fiji... It WILL drive a cycle BUT it is excellent rock! I was very satisfied with mine... Ill have to look for the exact add you mention.
just to comment ... add shipping... hmmm... maybe not as good a deal as it seemed...when considering you are dealing with ??? on ----
I just found from a large reputable dealer you probably all know...
$163.. 45lb box W.S. fij premium 2nd day air
179... 45 lb box overnight...
these prices include shipping
SWF.com also has premium at decent prices... but if you only want a couple pounds do the ---- thing...

Thanks for the heads up guys. I certainly don't need another cycle kicking off since my tank is already cycled. I'll stick with my LFS's here...at least I can see the rock for myself and pick out which ones I want.
:jumping:  :jumping:

i bought a lot last year for 2 buck a lb shipped. i got about 180lbs base rock and a couple big showpieces. the nice rocks were good as the price, but it advertised better. she has since left ----.

Even non-cured LR is good enough for a new tank, right? Since I will need to cycle with LR starting a new cycle isn't really a problem. Would it be just as good to get the cheap, uncured as opposed to more expensive, cured stuff?

i bought most of my rock un-cured because i was just starting to cycle my tank...it has a bad smell for a few days but you can save money by doing it that way...hth
