Live Rock

I've got 70 lbs. of live rock in a rubber maid tub with skimmer,heater, & power head.Do I need lighting?

Not really, but if you want it to grow coraline algea you do. If you're just curing or storing it, you'll be o.k. I did the same thing for about 6 weeks. Just remember to add your L/R a little at a time or you'll get ammonia spikes. It all depends on the size of your tank, the state of your biological filter, etc. For example, when I was transfering and curing rock for my 125, I added about 10 lbs at a time.

I just thought I would tell you I did the same thing with the adding the rock slowly since my tank was existing when I started switching to reef, and it made all the difference. I have not had any spikes yet, and have been adding about 5-8 lbs about every week. I have a 55 gallon, so I have been doing this for a while now.
