Is there a rule of thumb on how much live rock goes in a saltwater tank? I am setting up a 75 gallon. For some reason I thought it was 1 pound per gallon, but not sure.

I'm just setting up a 125gal tank and have read in many books and online that 1 to 2 pounds is best. Hope this helps!

1-1.5 pound per gallon is usually what people go by to have adequate filtration. depends on what kind of rocks you get your tank might look somewhat barren with that figure.

It depends on how dense the rock is. You want surface area, not weight.

just finished with the 75 gallon. Used 85 pounds of Marshall Island rock. Looks pretty good. Maybe another 10-15 pounds.

EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!! That rock is the best to get IMO.
