It probably shouldn't be in there at all. It will slowly kill anything beneficial & living as they are used to living in a saltwater enviroment.

ditto, don't put it in freshwater, you'll have die off.
Just mix saltwater and put it in a bucket or tub if you can't put it in your tank yet.
