Is it cured on this website? It doesn't say it is, but double checking. <img src="graemlins//angel.gif" border="0" alt="[angel]" />

most people will tell you that it doesn't matter if cured or uncured--you still have to isolate it at home to deal with any die-off from shipping. We put our 30# (from another site actually) in an old 20 gal we had with a heater, powerhead and a small cheap filter ( some say skip the filter) for about two weeks. We continuously moved the rock around to get good circulation and wire brushed some areas that looked dead (white spots) We went through a few water changes in those two weeks, at one point the water was smelly (die-off) and the water was quite cloudy when the rock was moved around. So we were glad to wait--didnt want crud in the good tank. When the ammonia was down, we moved it in a little at a time. Seems like everything went fine. Our fish weren't disturbed. We are however, still rearranging the rock! hard to get it just right!HTH

No, thank you for the info. I was wondering if there was a way you could buy it cured so that you didn't have that awful smelly die off of curing it yourself though? Cuz some say cured and some don't....so is it a hoax then where you still have to do that no matter what? :(

The last order from this site came yesterday....it smelled awful. We are using it to cycle a tank so it went in there ater a good rinse. The first order We got from them was great, smelled good, very little ammonia spike but it did cycle the tank. I don't know what the difference was this time, but it definitel;y was not cured rock. I have ordered from another site as well that I could talk to on the phone. The rocl was gorgeous and larger pieces as I had requested. Look arround or e-mail me for the other site. tpritchard@ncnets.net
