If you buy online your pretty much stuck with whatever they send you. You take a chance. LFS you can handpick your pieces. I would recommend at least 150lbs.

depends on if you want to take your chances or not. Im going to have to use Online as my LFS charges 10 dollars a pound for live rock that rarely appears to have anything live on it. but rock looks great.
its a toss up but remember to cure the rock if you get it online even if it is already cured it will experience die off in transit.
