Live rock

Hi I purchased 150 lbs of live rock it was being kept in rubbermaid container's with power heads all rock looks good but some is white will this come back? My husbands friend said it would not?

Yup it will color up again. Probably start green and go to red/purple/pink colors. Not to worry here. With good lighting and natural salt water parameters will not take too long to start seeing the color come back.

If in doubt, purchase a really nice piece of live rock with corralline algae already on it. Place in the tank and use a toothbrush to scrub it. This will seed the already placed rock. But, as the previous poster said, give it time and it will come back. Keep up with the water changes to give the tank new water, and before long you will see changes. Good luck, looks like a nice start. What size tank is that?

Does the Calc level factor in to how the rock will develop? My Calc has been sitting around 360 so I started adding suppliments to raise it closer to a reef acceptable level and was wondering if it would help the Corralline algae or other growths on the rock.
