Live Rock

Ok Boxing day sale coming up - my 65 gallon needs more live rock - what are the dangers of adding another 20 to 30 lbs of cured live rock. Should I buy some and put it in a tote with saltwater and monitor it for a couple of weeks or play it safe and buy dry base rock. Thanks for looking.

If it's fully cured, and not out of water you should be fine
BUT...if you are not 100% sure....putting it in a tote of SW with a ph and heater can never hurt
ALTHO a couple of weeks is not necessary....a few days maybe.....just test the tote water, and go from there

Good time to inspect it for pests while in a tote, too.

yea, stick it in a tote for a few days and look around for creepy crawlies.

IMO Base is cheaper and will "liven up" over time.

Thanks Guys I think base rock is the way to go, I will just have to spend my money on coral at the boxing day sale.
