I have a quick question about live sand beds. Do scooter blennies eat anything beneficial out of it? I have a 40gallon with about 3 inches of live sand.

I dont think they sift sand, so I would say no!

They suck it in through their mouth and push it out through their gills. I don't think there is anything small enough in that area if you are worried about losing beneficial bacteria. If anything, they'll annoy you by spitting sand all over your corals and clams if you have any.
