Live Sand left out of water

If I had 100 lbs. of LS that was left out of water for a couple of weeks, can it still be used in a new tank?
-I realize it will not be live anymore, but I would just like to know if it can be used, and if so, do I need to cure it....or allow it to sit for a while in the tank, before adding anything?

For a new tank yes you can add it in right away. It may even provide you with the ammonia spike you need.
