live sand

I have had a 90 gal set up for 7 months now and used to see critters on the sand at night. I added 10 lbs of live sand from an established tank after my cycle. I have about 3 1/2 in of aragonite sand. I also have 90 lbs of live rock, a bunch of Nassarius snails, hermits and 3 fish. Why is there not an abundance of critters, pods etc crawling around. I would think they would have multiplied not depleted, is something eating them? Are they not as visible after the tank is more established?

Do most people add live sand periodically? I have been checking with a microscope and flashlight at night and see nothing crawling around anywhere on the sand like I used too. My levels have all been consistent after my cycle and have lost nothing.
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0
PH 8.1
Salinity 1.025
Alkalinity 8dkh
Calcium 420
Can someone tell me if I should add more. Is this considered a deep enough sand bed for it to be crucial as long as I have enough live rock. I have really not checked the sand for a few months until a week ago and just figured the bed would be jumping at night like before.
Anything appreciated.

how long has it been since u added the ls? im not sure if burying the critters will kill them.. so i cant be much help. maybe they are all hiding since u disturbed the environment..

I bought the live sand right after the cycle and by critters I mean the pods, worms etc. that make up the live sand. Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

yea.. pods and worms can run inside the rock if its pourous enough.. my tank is about to start cycle, but i have lots of critters... sometimes i see none.. just some legs stickin out the rocks. i added 40lbs of ls and i think there was a drop in my critter count too! they will reproduce!
