Live Sand

I have a 72 galllon tank that has been set up for about 7-8 months. I have 100lbs of live rock. I have a large Fragspawn, Xenia, and mushrooms. Also I have about 50lbs of live sand.
My question is that i want to add more live sand. Will this casue a spike at all?

You can add more. Someone mentioned earlier, which sounds like a very good idea to me, to add plain sand a little at a time. It will be seeded by your live and will not have the risk of die off.

the thing is I already have the bag of live sand. I got it for free from a friend

Sure, you can add that. I was just letting you know of an alternative route. Use a piece of PVC and a funnel to direct the sand where you want it.

thanks! so i should just probably spread it out in the tank. And maybe just a little bit a day?

How much is it? If it is five or ten pounds then I wouldn't worry. If it is a lot then you can divide it up. The amount of die off from live sand is usually not large. Your rock and current sand should be able to handle any spikes.
