hi!
have read many threads on the value of having ls and am thinking about changing to it from cc. my local supplier carries a brand called "global" which he claims is the exact same type as the highly regarded southdown! anybody ever use this brand?
thanks....

Comparing Southdown to live sand is pretty odd. I mean, Southdown is play sand you get from a hardware store. It's dead and will take some time to become live. Live sand has all sorts of little critters and bacterias in it.
Now if he is comparing the actual fine grain of southdown the grain in this "GLOBAL". Then it might be worth it. But I'v never heard of it.

Not all live sand has (critters) mostly just bacteria, cheaper to use south down and seed for bacteria, but if you can get good live sand with (critters) would be a good deal
