So if i want to use my sand from my 55 gal

and put in my 125 gal how do you go about cleaning sand?

I used clean saltwater, a 5 gallon bucket, and maybe 3 or 4 scoops of sand at a time. I scooped the sand into the bottom of the bucket, covered it with saltwater, and stirred to get the water cloudy...then dumped the water and repeated until the water was almost clear (it will never be 100% clear as the sand will stay suspended for a few minutes...you should be able to tell the difference). I then repeated this with the remainder of the sand and put the clean sand into a temporary container with more fresh saltwater until I was ready to set the 125 up.

I have heard not to use the old sand from another tank. Has anyone had problems transfering sand from another tank? I hate to just throw the sand away. Seems like a waste of money.
