I will alternate these new ones a few times a week now.
I hate to say it, but a few times per week will not sustain this fan for very long. You'll need to supply A LOT of food once a day at the very least (most success I've read about with the harder gorgoninans seems to be with three or more feedings per day or even a constant drip). The more polyps on the gorgonian, the more mouths to feed - and your specimen is pretty large.
I'm not trying to get down on you, but you've got the 'horse in front of the cart'. You've bought something that is very difficult to keep and requires much research and special attention. It's a very nice looking piece, so I suggest you figure out how you'll deal with it as best as you can as quickly as possible.

Thank you for your advise, I think I might look into the drip method for feeding. I hadn't thought of that, but I do want to assure you that I am doing what I can to research this coral and feed it properly. It was an impulse buy, but I have other gorgorians in my tanks and have researched them. I was actually asking a different question at the beginning of this thread but it led a slightly different direction and I choose to learn as much from it as I could. Getting advise from those with more experience is always beneficial. Saltwater fish aquariums are something I have fallen in love with and spend a great deal of my time working with and learning about. Saltwaterfish.com is a place where I go to ask questions to further my research. I will say however, research will only take you so far, at some point trying to make it work and figuring it out hands on has to happen. I have spent money and time trying to figure out the best for my saltwater aquariums.

I strongly agree with your observations and I'm happy and refreshed to see that you're determined to do whatever it takes. Many are not as willing.

Do post your methods and findings, etc over time in the non-photosynthetic section.

I couldnt agree more.
bravo on researching, and listening to others.
please report your successes, methods, as well as reporting failure can be as informative as success, as in "tried this, didnt work, try something else"
