I just bought my Purple Lobster.. And I was wondering what he eats.. I read somewhere they eat anything, but I was wondering if I need to feed he something special.. like meaty foods, like I do my amenomes.. any suggestions?

Lobsters are opportunistic feeders, that will eat everything and anything they can get ahold of. That includes inverts, fish, algae, etc.
Keep us posted on how fast yours is growing, I am interested to find out exactly how fast they grow.

Ouch, just noticed that you have clowns in your tank, I would keep an eye on your lobster. From what I have read most people don't have problems with having them in your tank but you will probably see some fin disapearances.

Thanks for the warning.. I will keep an eye out.. From what I have noticed so far and I watch the tank alot, I enjoy watching them swim around and do their thing.. The Lobster keeps to himself.. in a hole.. dug by a pistol shrimp.. But I will watch out.. Thanks:eek:

Everything I have is tank raised and so far they all get aong.. The only problem I seem to have is a zebra damsel I got from when I was cycling (which I can't seem to catch). He is really teritorial..

yeah those zebra damsels are annoying. if it gets bigger than your other fishes its not gonna leave them alone. i had to return mine even though they are pretty fishes. yep, those lobsters eat everything, but don't let them starve or they go after your clowns at night esp

i have a purple lobster i had for about a week now. i feed him a very small piece of shrimp from my freezer that i would eat. he comes out of his hold and grabs it and takes it back to his den. i dont think he really has attacked anything yet.

I have a Purple Lobster and an Australian Lobster....both hide most of the time. In fact the only time I see the Purple lobster is by peering under the rock it hides. The Australian is larger and more visible taking food directly from me. I think they are cool additons to the tank. The eat silversides very well.
