thank youfor reminding us who exactly keeps our lfs's in business, they would loose alot of business if everyone kept their fishes for decades
tehre are 2 very good reasons that i can think of not to use that practice,and one has not even been mentioned, 1st is the shock, from drastic swings in water quality(ph alk amm SALINITY and trites/trates, not only temp)
and 2d, what if you take this fish home and do this and it happens that they had a disease in the tank?? wher is it now?? or say they treated a fish for some disease adn used a med you don't want like copppper, again, where is it now?? there goes you big 16 inch 150$ clam(and all others)
we all MUST slowly acclimate AND quarentine, it is not only a practice we boast, it is a responsibility we MUST practice, remember we are adopting these beautiful creatures and it is our duty to care for not risk them
