Some of you may remember my mantis tank build. My good amigo Henry (Spanko ) asked for a pic
Sorry for the clarity of the pic but mantis shrimp are lightning fast the red you see in front of her is the tip of my sea squirt with a piece of squid on it. i will try for some better pics soon

I know others were undertaking a mantis tank also. I would love to see some pics

Not too bad you have to be aware of where your mantis is when I put my hand in the tank to move something I make sure I do it forcefully and aggressively she backs into her burrow for safety and I do what I have to as quick as I can
check out the thread i started mantis tank 101

everything i put in my mantis tank she comes right out and starts smacking it.mine aint afraid of anything.i do find it amazing how organised they are.i can drop a snail in on the opposite side of the tank .she instantly know something is up.even though there are alot of empty shells in there she finds the one with the snail in it very fast.she will smack it once then grab it with her front arms and do a flip and into her cave for demolition.

I honestly want one just so I can watch it demolish things, instead of just watching YouTube videos, LOL.. I also think they're really pretty (color wise) and just have a really interesting look.

Okay, I'll confess, I really want one because:
Every time my friends wife comes over, she sticks her hands in tank to "pet" the fish
I would tell her how friendly Mr. Mantis was (because she's an idiot) and that just might teach her

do some research seems these guy can live in pretty bad conditions.all i did was get a 33 gallon tank,sand/crushed coral 50/50 mix,a 3 inch 14 inch long pvc tube 2 45 degree pipes, hob filter,10 lbs lr,heater two little ph's and let her go.i do a water change of 5 gallons every two weeks.shes been in there a while now and doing great.i dont think these guy need an experience person to take care of them.its nice because all you need is a 20 gallon long tank.

hey joe,i woke up yesterday and my mantis tank was leaking at the bottom.i put him in the qt.he is doing ok just hanging in the pvc.i razored the tank and resiliconed.i just put water in it and giving it an hour to look for leaks.so hopefully put it back together in a couple hours.the mantis will have to reconstruct his home again.he had it nice the 3 inch pvc and a tunnel in the gravel he made so i expect him to be busy tomorrow.
