Longspine Urchin

Hi, we just bought a long spine urchin yesterday. Since yesterday when it was put in the bag for transport the urchin has basically lost all of its spines it may have a dozen left on him. Is this unusual? Or is it just due to the change in environment? The only thing i could see visibly the MIGHT be causing this. Is that our psychotic Domino Damsel I think is schizo and thinks he's a clown fish and the urchin is an anenome. I do see how he's safely playing around the urchin without hurting himself.
Thanks

no its not normal. did u aclimate it? and domino adapted to life around longspine urchins as using them for hiding. that is normal
and this forum isnt about aquariums, its about chatting with the other people about odd things like movies (its a confusing title)

We will need to know much more about your tank and how you acclimated this animal. Urchins are very sensitive to young tanks (less than 6 months old), poor water quality (high nitrates, unstable pH and alkalinity) and low specific gravity (under 1.025). They also would need in general several hours of acclimation.
If you could provide us with that information we might be able to help.
I'll also move this post to the reef forum.
