look at this hitchhiker i almost killed

Well, well well. Look at this hitchhiker I almost clobbered with a mallet. I bought a chunk of live rock to break up tonight to make bases for all my frags I just cut up.
I just made the first strike on the rock with the chisel and hammer, I went to place the chisel again when I saw this little guy hunkered down. I quickly placed it into a bucked and slowly dripped him for two hours, periodically checking on him like a mother hen with a new chick.
Thinking the worst, that this little guy was not going to make it, it had a long day.
First it gets the crap shaken out of it at the lfs, then a long drive in a cooler with tank water.
Then it got to sit in the cooler while I went to the home depot to get some super glue. Then it was a longer sit while I grabbed my frag kit and gathered my toad stool and shrooms to get ready for cutting. After about two hours of sitting I begin my rock chipping and to my surprise I find him
Now its 10:43 est and he’s opened up and looking awesome.
I’m really siked :cheer:

about the find and how well he’s doing after such a long and traumatic day.

Thanks. Its really great to get a free anything. I can't believe I almost crushed him. Now after about 7 hours later I found/see it has a little baby on the back side of it, this is just awesome. A $10.00 rock and a cool hitchhiker that just got some really great color and a real urge to grow now. I can wait for it to take off and hopefully be a dominate fixture in my tank.
