I'm a little surprised that the shrimp wasn't able to walk away from the starfish.

That is a molt or that shrimp was already dead...no way a starfish could catch one.

That sucks...I am surprised they didnt tell you at the LFS where you got it. I have a harlequin shrimp and have to buy those starfish about every 3 weeks or so and the same guy at the LFS says, "You know those are going to eat all your corals don't you?"...guy sees me in there every 3 weeks buying the same damn thing and still doesnt ever remember...I have to explain to him everytime that I have a harlequin shrimp...

I buy the chocolate chips for my harlequins also. They are the cheapest.
They have never escaped the grips of the harlequins.
One of my LFS remembers me and know what they are for and the other LFS is like yours. Only they don't even bother to ask if I am aware that they are not reef safe.

hehe - not reef safe

What they're not is Harlequin safe - one leg at a time, my CC Star hasn't moved in 3 weeks....
