My hawk never messed with any hermits..... BUT I had 3 peps that were like 2" big that disappeared shortly after I got the Flame hawk...

My hawk never messes with shrimp or large hermits...I did buy a bunch of the tiny ones that he picked off right away. My guy perches on everything, you'll like him!

ya he seems to be adapting quite well actually! hasnt bothered anything in the tank. I guess im lucky! i have sm hermits and a skunk. I keep my animals well feed. He does perch on everything....kinda keepin an eye out lol even at night or early in the morning when i wake up to turn the moonlights off for darkness, there he is the night watch! Very kool fish, hes still small i think though about 2 1/2"....
