Thanks !! We have been tweeking everything it's so much fun. And we got most the rock in. The one with corals we left out for now & the fish and critters. I will be soooo happy to break down all the other tanks. And get my house back lol. We have looked like a fish store for awhile now.
Glad to see someone else likes the skimmer aka the beast.... And yes I think the husband is a keeper lol...
I added a pic of the tank now up and running... What do guy's think of how I got the rock placed?

Rock work is always a PITA as far as being sure its stable and can fit corals and best for fish ect. IMO if you are going to have fish then provide many Large and small open cave and crevises and passages for them to dart into when spooked and shelter for sleeping and to graze in for food ect. and for corals you need space for them to open up and grow toward the lighting and shelves to sit them on and room at the top for them and still have room for fish to have open swimming room in front and sides and also some open sand bottom area for sand dwelling livestock like sifters and finding sinking food and many fish will graze from the bottom as well....as I said, rock can be a PITA....
I think you should redo the rock and maybe not use as much. Alot of rock is a good thing as far as provideing a healthy system but in a main tank it often can be too much as far as the livestock goes......up to you as to what to do now....I would not hurry to get livestock untill your really happy with the rock becuase after stocking you really dont want to have to redo rock then.
Heres a pic of one of my tanks that I made large caves and kept the rock off the back wall as well and my fish were in and out and thru constiantly and loved to just hang out in the caves often...this allows them to have a sence of security and less stressfull for them. I always wished I had left some more room over the top on this one. Just some of my experiances and good luck...

cyber,
i like the tank with less rock-
gives the fish more swimming room, and makes the tank look bigger.
too much rockwork makes the tank look cramped.
