Looking at building Puffer specific tank

Hello all,
I am looking into venturing into the world of salt water tanks. I have been doing fresh water tanks and have really succeeded. I have been researching reef and artificial reef tank and the such.
I have decided that I want a tank 110-150gal that will support a puffer. My idea is one dogface puffer and what ever kind of tank makes I can justify. Iv read how messy they are and how a skimmer and filtration are crutial, due to the fact that they feast on critters that would help clean the tank.
What kind of tank are best for puffers? A lot of live rock? Live rock with certain corals? Artificial everything?
Any help or suggestions welcome!

Well first off, go bigger, puffers actually get quite large, you can survive with 100 gallon, BUT the more room he has the more fun he is to watch.
Also, you're going to want to put more fish in there than just that.
That being said, typically what we'd suggest is to to go with a fuge and sump system, in the long run it is significantly less Maintenance. I'd also suggest plenty of live rock, that's kind of like a buffer, the more LR you have the more stable your tank would be.
One last thing to think of is flow, puffers love it, plus it will keep the detritus suspended and hopefully get pulled out of the water column with your filtration system.
