I would agree that green (or blue reef) chromis are the way to go.
I have a school of 3 larger ones and they are active and out constantly.

Will the blue and green chromis school together? How agressive are they..I know a lot of people try to get rid of damsels and I see them listed in the same catagory? Is a school of 10 too big?

Blue/green chromis' are the most docile of the damsel family...they are pleasing on the eyes, and school together...and as mentioned they will stay out in together once they get a little established...

Look into some of the lesser known cardinals, beyond the standard bangais and pyjamas... here is a pic of my buddy's 90 gallon containing a school of long spine cardinals (Apogon leptacanthus). Also check out Apogon cyanosoma.

Antheas. By far. Gorgeous schoolers. Perfect for your size tank. I used to have 5 in mine and they really set it off. Of course, the chromis are also nice too. They get biiiiig believe it or not.

I have 5 purple firefish that are the best of friends. They swim as one all the time. Not always out in the open, but frequently enough for me to be happy. Chromis are a nice choice too however.

I've not had a purple firefish carpet surf yet. I've had a few fish do it though. My midas blenny...a favored fish...carpet surfed about a month or so ago. :( RIP little dude...

I've never tried mixing the two types, but I suppose they might school together.
My chromis sometimes chase the other fish a little, but I've never seen them nip at the other fish. They are very aggressive eaters though... mine are pigs.
As far as a school of 10, that would entirely depend on how large a tank you have and how many other fish are in there.
