I have a friend that is attempting to trap one that came from Florida. Not sure if he will be keeping it when it is removed from the tank.
What are you willing to offer?

You are aware that there are many types of Mantis Shrimp right?

Not all of them are as "pretty on the eyes" as the Peacock Mantis.

It is not a peacock mantis - as I said it came in on some rock that he received from Fla. - Aquacultured - cool place that sends the rock by air trans shipped in water. I had another friend that received an Octo as a hitcher.
He is cycling now and has had no luck yet in getting the bugger out. But indicated that he doesn't want to keep the mantis. Will part with the mantis for $10 + S&H. We have some old shipping boxes from SWF and Gramps has an O tank that we can use to fill the bag before shipping. Should arrive alive...
Give me your email and I will let you know when it is caught. He doesn't want to start pulling rock out yet - but will when cycling is complete so that fish will be safe.

I have one(looks like it has some pinks and blues in it) can't catch the bugger though, he is real small maybe like an inch, I see him once in a while grab a pod that comes too close to his hole, I can't remove the rock cause it has some of my nicest zoos on it. He avoids any traps I set up. I'm not too worried about him yet eating my inverts or fish because of his size, but I know sooner of later he's gonna be a terror. If I catch him I'll send him your way.

Can't catch the darn thing. If I didn't have zoos on the rock, I'd send you the whole rock with the creature in it. No LFS near you have any?

2 but 1 is incredibly expensive and little diversity, and the other was just opened so trying to wait out a month or so on them, but nobody ever has mantis shrimp
