Looking for a New Camera

Well, I'm thinking of getting a new camera. Anybody care to post some pics up and give some info about their camera?

Beth, I just got a Canon Power Shot S1 and I love it! this one is amazing compared to what I had before. I am still learning how to use it but the link below is a thread of pics I posted last week.

Those are some great pics. And I am looking for a camera that pic up the super detail on macros.
What is the megapix on that camera?

I have the Cannon G3. I love this camera. You can get them at a grear price now. 4 mega pix and what I consider to be a good macro.....take a look

I agree, the G3 can take some awesome pics, and I'm considering it. What about "user-friendliness"?

I got a Fugi Finepix s7000 specifically for the macro shots. Great scenery, great macro, can't get the moon though. Not until I get a special lens.

I have a F-finepix now, only 2 MP, though. Its served well but its getting time to upgrade.

If you are planing on spending a good deal of $$$, I've seen many, many great pics of the Sony 828 (the new 8 megapixel). One of them had the head of a dragon fly, and you could see each individual lense in the middle of the eye. A good site to check out is http://www.dpreview.com - it's like the vehix of camera's. Good Luck - I got a Sony V-1 and love it (I also had sony equipment, so cost was lower and i got it refurbished for 100$ off and extra accessories for free). No pics at the momment, the tank i plan on using has brown water and haven't gotten time to bring up a powerful light to temporarily use to crank the shutter up.

Pretty easy, I am pretty challenged when it comes to those things! G3 disco'd already? I think the G5 is the new one. Someone here has the G5, I can't think of who though. I think NM Reef maybe?

Yes, I noted a couple of places selling the G3 and it is in the $400ish range.

I would love his camera too.. But I think his pictures show his talent. Somehow I think he would take pictures that would put us all to shame even with a little piece of you no what.
Thats not a bad price for the G3 and any technology coming up soom, you probably won't miss. (unless your Rye) I KNOW mine has much more capability, but I always seem to have other things to conquer. like laundry, soccer, meals, homework
oops, I'm boring everyone..

Overall I am pleased with it. I love it becasue I can take it everywhere and I know I am going to get a decent shot of something. (like watching my kids take a walk on the beach on New Years eve at sunset. )
I am almost positive NM got one not too long ago. I tried to find his thread that mentioned it.

OH, and the macro does a good job IMO. Better with a small tripod. My halloween crab has hairy legs...I didn't know they had that.
