Depends on what type of skimmer your looking for!!!!! You have the needlewheel designs and you have the beckett style skimmers.... Beckett style skimmers skim large amounts of water fast and require a large pump to drive them..... Barrs' and My Reef Creations are very nice ones... and you have Euro Reef and ASM, and Geo skimmers.... There are alot more some are very price such as the "king" Bubble King, Deltec etc...
How much are u looking to spend?

First of all let me ask this: Im setting up the 180gal for a bamboo shark. I assumed that I will need a skimmer but im not positive.
I dont want to spend a ton of $$ on a skimmer but I dont want a cheapy either. In my reef tank I have a seaclone (i know, i know, everyone says theyre crap, but i like mine) and that one wasnt very expensive.

Sharks put out alot of waste and need pristine water to thrive. So I would look into a skimmer that could legitimately handle 2-3x's your tank's volume (not a grossly overrated Prism or Nautilus for example). The Beckett-injected skimmers mentioned by Acrylic51 work very well and would be ideal for the type of tank you are setting up.

The euro reef is a great skimmer. ( but a little pricy) I think the ASM uses a similar pump and needle wheel but a cheaper skimmer body to reduce overall cost.

True Euro's do use better quality material than ASM but why pay the extra extra cash when they do the same thing, and Euros' customer service seems to be lacking as well!!!!
