Tanks in a greenhouse? Check out the Tropicorium in Romulus, Michigan. Huge frag, and live rock tanks in multiple greenhouses.

what about one with human bones?
ill bet an eel swimming out of a skull would look sweet.
Yeah, that would be cool. I think under this category would be "decorative aquariums." I didn't think of that one. Thanks!

Yeah, I've seen some stuff from out in California like that, it was really neat. I was just giving some people an option of telling me before I brought it up.
Anyone else have any ideas for tanks?

This is more of an elaboration of the GSP dominant tank. Have a nice rock structure like any other tank, cover it all in GSP and get a nice school of lyretail anthias in it. I think this would look cool for a larger tank like a 175 or 200.

Make your own rock look like a tree and stick that in the middle of a cube, any size. Have GSP or similar green coral, algae, etc cover the top to look leaves.
You could make the tree hollow and make holes look like knots for the fish to swim thru.
Or even better, have the overflow run down the middle so you don't see any equipment in the tank.
Holy crap, I just got really excited over this idea
. I'm doing it! Well when I have time and money, lol (I can hope!)

Because of this thread, Im doing an invert only tank. I have live rock, live sand & will have no corals at all. But I will have other inverts. Any specific ideas? Urchins, crabs, shrimp, stars? What kinds. What will get along with what! Kim

Well nobody has mentioned it so I will try. What about a tide pool tank? They can be pretty cool. I was thinking about doing one myself.

My parent have a blue headed amazon parrot, shes bright green and has awesome colors, Id like to build a nice 125 reef tank and lower it like groupergenius is doing, and build a realistic tropical themed avairy above it. Now that I think about it would be tough with the lights, an the bird poop
Another thing I thought would be cool is if I had a 750 like Bioneck I would load it with rock on one side and build a cave for the biggest dragon moray I could find. Maybe throw a huge grouper in there too. And just have a "death" tank, virtually anything that hits the water will die instantly.

cuttlefish tank!!
this is something that i am going to be starting in the very near future.i would put some zoos and some sps in it with plenty of caves and lots of open areas in the front so that when i drop a matrix crab in it i could just watch them hunt it... better thing about it is that they are very easy to breed too! their lifespan is only one year but the tank its self can be self sustaining with cuttlefish as long as you have a nursery to raise the babies you are as good to go!

An octopus or ray tank would be beautiful and very unique. I saw someone on here a while back who was keeping an octo and it was really cool. Except I hear they have short lifespans.

Maybe research it a bit because that would definitly be something pretty special.

or a simulated wreck tank. would have to be large. just dont know about the metal breaking down and rusting... maybe use a type of foam decorated to look like a side of a ship with eggcrate to have the swim throughs.
one of my fav's would be to replicate a coral head (large brain/maze coral) in the center of a circular tank. stock with florida spiny lobster, an eel (spotted or green) and other fish native to the florida keys.
