Looking for Rose Anenome...

We fell in love with this beautiful pink anenone we spotted in a 900 gal tank at the LFS. We were told there is a 40 person waitin list and the anenome is close to and even a lil more that $200. Anyone know where I could do research on this particular specie? ;)

The price sounds about right. I have seen them anywhere from 140 to 165. I got mine from a fellow reefer who imported a bunch of them and sold them on line. Paid around 75.00 for a golf ball size Rose. It's now around 7". They are beautiful. Everyone and their uncle is looking for them right now.

Is a rose anemone also known as a bulb anemone? Cuz when i purchased mine i was told it was a rose bulb anemone and i got it for 30 bucks. It hosts a tomato clown if that helps anone. Plz clear up my confusion on these anemones. Thx ~RYAN~

I dunno what a bulb anenome looks like but the rose anenome looks kind of like a condi with out the dark tips but instead of havin a 4 inch disc base, its longer along the bottom. The bottom kind of reminds me of a carpet. ::shrugs:: It's gorgeous.
::stomps:: I want one....: :p outs::

a rose anemonie is usually called a bubble tip rose ..Entacemaea quadricolor. Under metal halides they usually have bubble tips but not always. They seem to be hardy =the captive prop ones which they are common. i would only buy captive prop= hardier. wild ones maybe hard to keep. Some areas they go for $30-100= area where there ppl who prop them. I payed $60 for mine. It was a quater size not baseball in @6mo. Some area ppl do pay $200 cuz they can't find them. where do you live? City?

Clownfish,
Looooove that city. That's where my significant other and I vacation every year, usually twice a year. I'll have to try and find the lfs you were talking about next time I'm down that way :)

He lies....::glares at Ryan:: We dun like the city. Traffic is horrible. Especially when you have $100 of fish in the back seat and you have to sit on the I-10 infront the superdome inching by terrified that the fish are gonna stress out and die from the lack of oxyegen before you can get to the house and into the tank
Gawd my English proffessor would die of a heart attack if she could she me typing.

I don't know if these guys are reputable or not, but I found the rose BTA at their site. You may want to check it out...

As I was reading in this months issue of fresh water and marine aquarium, an advertisment from atlantis aquarium claims they have the rose anemone, www.atlantisaquarium.net. I have not looked at the site but hope this helps :)
