started this build 6 months ago. Have watched many builds on here and well seen lots of good advice. so here it is, it is 47 in. wide 36 in. tall 26 in. deep. Two tide pool 1 made into refugeums for filtration. i will have 4 250 watt mh and 2 54 watt t5 for lighting. So what have i done wrong?

The tank is 36" from top to bottom? I couldn't even imagine working with that. If I am reading your dimesnsions right, why would you use 4 250w MH? I would really think 2 400w would be much better.

I would move your thermostat if I were you. You are going to get a lot of heat and humidity off the tank that is going to affect it.
I would agree with jpa on this one, two metal halides will be sufficient for a 4 ft tank.

i am using 4 250s because i have a 1000 watt ballast. Italked to an electricion and he said i could wire 4 250 watt lights in series with out any problem. Do you think i would be better off with 2 400s?

I don't know what your going to keep in it but some of the problems I see is you have no (visible) means of air circulation. With the top being completely closed those 4 250 watt MH's is going to generate one heck of a heat problem. I personally think 1000 watts of MH's on that tank is going to cook just about anything in it. JMO...

i have a 140 cfm fan pushin air in the left side of the tank, and a 300 cfm fan pulling air out of the right. Plus 3 3in fans blowing across the lights to help keep the heat down. the tank temp is not getting above 76 with out a chiller. but the water evaperation is between 1.5 and 2 gal a day
