I've had my reef up and running for about a year and a half now.I've not lost anything that i put in it.I have a coral beauty,2 percs,royal gamma,scooter bleeny,cleaner shrimp and some type of small goby.I also have a decent size cleanup crew.I dose daily 15ml of oceans blend ph/alkalinity and 15ml of oceans blend calcium.Also i dose once a week with roti-rich invert food.I have an assortment of green star polyps,mushrooms,toadstool,green button polyps and some pulseing xenias.My toadstool is doing great along with my green star polyps which are spreading like crazy.My green button polyps open but have lost most of their color.And last my pulseing xenias were doing great but now they are all but withered away.My parameters are as follows....sg 1.020,ph 8.2,alk a little on the high side,temp at 78-82,amonia at 0,trites 0,trates 0.I top off with ro/di.O yea i run my blues from 9am to 7pm and my brights from 10am to 6pm.The moon lights stay on 24/7.The bulbs are also about a year and a half old.Anyone have any sugestion on what I'm doing or doing wrong?Thanks in advance....

Hiya,
I agree, raise your salinity and change your bulbs. Watch out for an algea bloom after the bulb change though.

alk is on the high side...My test only reads low medium high...i dont have a cal test...what do you think about the temp and suplements i'm using????

I think supplements are useless or harmful without testing the needs and results.
My opinion is that you need a better ALK test that give meaningful numbers and a Calcium test. Without these tests you are filling the gas tank without knowing if the tank is already full or empty.

If you do a search, there was a long thread about this about a month ago. Several members here, including me, have had Xenia just up and die. We can't really explain it.
New lights might help. Also, they seem to be very senistive to temperature flucuations (sp?). Some have suggested that this is just part of their normal life cycle and this is how they spread quickly to new areas. After a while, they might start sprouting up all over the place.

My xenia did the same thing but I'm still waiting for them to start popping up everywhere. I dont think im going to hold my breath on this one.
