I would suggest a six line or christmas wrasse. Both very colorful, if your looking to add more than one, I would introduce them at the same time. Good Luck!

So cirtian wrasse's can be in the same tank together, but others cant? How reef safe are most?
Keep um coming!

It depends, fish are like people. Some can exist together in the same environment, while others will be aggressive towards one another. Check out this site, www.***********.com it will classify reef safe and fish only wrasses. If you have inverts in the tank, I would go with a reef safe wrasse.

Links to competitors sites are not allowed. Wrasse are an unusual aquarium fish. They are recommended to be housed singly. However, many people successfully house several wrasse together. Hobbyists have even began forming species only tanks. Personally, I believe the point of a "reef" aquarium is to attempt to simulate a living reef. On a living reef these species give each other space. Personally I am a fan of the Mystery Wrasse. Other favorites include the Flame Wrasse (expensive), Dragon Wrasse (aggressive), and Velvet Wrasse. Previous poster mentioned the sixline wrasse. They are very popular because they have a great personality. Good luck with whatever you choose.

I have heard alot about the 6 line, it seems to be very popular, and just judging by its colors I see why, but I hear many say it can be aggressive and should be added last. Is there truth to this?

Though generally peaceful, the Six Line Wrasse may act aggressively towards peaceful Wrasses and other easily-intimidated fish, especially if inadequately fed or if its habitat is void of places in which it can hide.

There are so many different groups of wrasse that its hard to give an answer to the question. I have a harlequin tusk with a pinkface and a cuban hogfish (a wrasse) with a scotts fairy wrasse. All great fish. But, I sure wouldn't add more than one small wrasse to your present tank. A sixline or one of the many fairy or flasher wrasse (that don't get too big) would be a good choice. Many wrasse are not safe with inverts; and you already are approaching maximum tank capacity, IMO.

I dont nessisarily have my heart set on keeping the RG, I dont think it was really what I was looking for, if that helps at all. Does anyone have good pictures of their wrasse in their tanks, I cant seem to find any good shots.

I like the four lines they cost a little more than the six though maybe 10-20 more but worth it. At the same time 4 & 6 lines are known to eat flat worms just in case.

I thought I read somewhere that the 4 lines are not 100 percent reef safe?
I looked and apparently thats the eight line.
Could you have a 4 and a 6 line or are they too similar, both are awesome looking.

none of the wrasses are 100% reef safe. in your tank a 6 line would be your best bet, but still success (Because of tank size and stock list) is still questionable.

What on the stock list would make success a question.
I guess I can't read for some reason I read 29 gallon tank, not 50 gallon tank. In a 50 gallon they should
have enough space to not have wars. But it is always a question mark with clowns and wrasses. In a 29 gallon I'd say no way, but a 50 gallon is worth a try. Your inverts will slowly dissapear I think.

IMO I think it would be a non stop war. I have a four line and love him. At the same time six lines are like damsels you see them all the time.

Just my 2 cents; I don't think adding a six line should lead to any long-term problems...assuming you have some shelter areas for the fish. Personally, I've never had a clown/wrasse problem--once the clown's territory was established. The RG is so small, that it adds very little to the bio-load.

What parts would I hate if you dont mind me asking? Would I have better luck with a four line in that aspect?
