Not really, just getting what i like and what will likely survive captivity. Naso's aren't from hawaii are they? but you are right most of my fish are hawaiian island fish.

crox...wow..nice saddleback...looks good and healthy...my two new guys are still fine and both eating, but the racoon seems to turn his nose up at flake and pellet, only wants to eat the frozen mysis shrimp...What does yours eat? should I be giving mine anything else... what other frozen stuff do they like?

Unfortunately I don't have him anymore. I had to get rid of him when I decided to go for a reef.
He used to eat anything frozen mysis and brine, formula 1 flakes, formula 1 and 2 pellets and other kind of flakes.

I gave a mix today of frozen brine, mysis, and spirulina....they both gobbled them up and got their fair share...so I guess the other tank mates are now used to them and leaving them alone. hope they do well

yep...naso's are in Hawaii...I was confused because there is also a red sea naso tang...Well, I guess this means I have a hawaiian island tank......I didn't really realize I was doing this, but I just like all of those fish :happyfish :happyfish :happyfish

I guess there are not alot of people with butterflys out there, probably because you are mostly reef people and as I understand it they are not so reef safe....

I've tried them on 3 occasions, including 2 Copperband's and haven't had any luck. I don't think mine ate well. Maybe I was using the wrong type of food. May give them a try again once I rework my fish only tank. :notsure:

Goodwin...that's what NM said that the butterflys sometimes are finicky eaters. I lost two bannerfish that just never ate..
BigDog...very nice butterflies...I think I just saw a thread on your ?new tank? or maybe not so new reef tank...looks great... so far my racoon and my threadfin are doing well. I'm just hoping for the best. thanks for the tip on different foods. mine eat mysis, brine and spirulina, marine plankton...I've been feeding 2-3x a day usually just to be sure they are eating well. I was worried the tank wouldn't keep up with this, but no nitrates still. Maybe because I do weekly 10% water changes..

hooktonfish...I would think so as long as your tank is big enough. They say butterflies need alot of room...but I'm no authority...it may depend on the type of butterfly you are planning on getting.
